Our Workouts

Bike Routes

Our team has bike rides of various difficulty, but many of our members are new to cycling. Some even rent bikes throught the Outdoor Connection Center on our campus. If you are interested in buying a bike, email us at triclub@uark.edu for some suggestions. We also have many routes in the Fayetteville area, ranging from scenic long rides, to difficult, hill routes, as well as some beginner level shorter rides on routes with little to no traffic. When it is cold outside we will do trainer workouts at GPP Cycling in Fayetteville.

Swim Workouts

Our swim practices are located in the HPER Building in the 2nd floor Natatorium. Our workouts are from swim sets used in many high school swim programs, focused on freestyle and technique. For many of our swimmers, technique is the key to dropping time. We also have a few drills specific to open water swimming and sighting. For many triathletes, swimming is the most difficult of the 3 sports, which is why our team leaders strive to help members as much as possible in this particular sport. We are willing to help improve your stroke through one on one sessions, video analysis, and by providing specific workouts.

Running Workouts

Many of our runs begin at Wilson Park. We do tempo runs, long runs, intervals, and track workouts, as well as hills. We are going to put in good mileage and progressively increase the speedwork as we increase our mileage.
