​CLUB MEMBERSHIP
Club Sport participation is open to any student currently enrolled in classes through the University of Arkansas (flagship institution only) as well as any faculty, staff, and spouses who have a current UREC membership; however, only students are able to compete in conference and national competitions. Non-student members are eligible for travel and competition in all races that include age group divisions.
General Membership and due payments will be divided into two categories; the first being “practicing member” and the second being “racing member”. In exchange for club participation, members will have access to a minimum of four, and up to eight, structured workouts per week- these will be led by volunteers, coaches, or officers who will provide a workout plan, maintain contact with all participating members during a workout, and provide coaching. Each member of the Triathlon Club must submit a document of planned race calendar for the upcoming season provided by the officers at the first meeting, which shall occur within the first two weeks of scheduled classes. Target races may only be attended by members who meet the respective requirements of racing or practicing members.
Racing members must be eligible to participate under UREC regulations and must become members of USAT (through their website: usatriathlon.com) and will be expected to pay the USAT membership fee out of pocket. Racing members will be expected to attend two practices per week, of two different disciplines. Racing members will also be expected to attend two target races per year. Racing members will be expected to pay for their race entry fees outside of club dues, as race-entry fees can vary greatly from race to race. Racing members may be afforded subsidized race entry fees to races within the USAT South Midwest Collegiate Series. Subsidies will be based on the number of entrants from the University of Arkansas Triathlon club, as well as attendance at club practices. Amount to be determined by club president, vice president, and treasurer at time of registration for each race based on budget.
